“And I know you deserve a better man…”
Flirting. You’re doing it right.
”Freedom is exercised in relationships between human beings. Every human person, created in the image of God, has the natural right to be recognized as a free and responsible being. All owe to each other this duty of respect. the right to the exercise of freedom, especially in moral and religious matters, is an inalienable requirement of the dignity of the human person. This right must be recognized and protected by civil authority within the limits of the common good and public order” -Catechism of the Catholic Church
You know…unless you think that the expression of love through marriage is a right.
“Man has the right to act in conscience and in freedom so as personally to make moral decisions. ‘He must not be forced to act contrary to his conscience. Nor must he be prevented from acting according to his conscience, especially in religious matters.’” -Catechism of the Catholic Church
You know…unless your conscience says that marrying someone of the same gender is right.
“The education of conscience is indispensable for human beings who are subjected to negative influences and tempted by sin to prefer their own judgment and to reject authoritative teachings.” -Catechism of the Catholic Church
Rejecting authoritative teachings and preferring your own judgement is sinful…you know, unless you’re Jesus, the model of perfect living for your religion.
“‘homosexual acts are intrinsically disordered.’ Under no circumstances can they be approved.”
“A human being must always obey the certain judgment of his conscience. If he were deliberately to act against it, he would condemn himself.” -Catechism of the Catholic Church
See, the Catholic Church doesn’t hate homosexuals. They just put them in a position in which if they follow their conscience that says that homosexual acts are okay, they are committing a sin, but if they act against their conscience they are condemning themselves, which makes total sense and fits in perfectly with the Church’s teaching of equal human dignity and rights.
Also, cause, you know…God making you want to sin seems totally okay and loving.
You are more than just a fingerprint, a number, a name.
You are a human.
You were made to love and be loved.
So leave a mark of love everywhere you go, because the marks humans leave are too often scars.
